Our transparency is what sets us apart from the rest. Now that you have watched countless hours of videos on how great dobermans are and decided that you want a Doberman puppy for your household. Let's talk about what most breeders won't talk about and that is HEALTH.
What is Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM)? DCM is a heart muscle disorder that results in a weak pump function and heart chamber enlargement. Dobermans are 60% affected by this disease. This is a heart condition that affects them at a young age and isn't necessarily just associated with genetics. DCM is multi factorial and can be caused by nutritional factors, underlying diseases and/or infections and environmental factors as well.
This is why a routine Cardiology visit is necessary to have diagnostic tests done such as ECHOCARDIOGRAM AND 24 HOUR HOLTER done annually.
Many breeders try to pass off genetic testing as an actual test and do not do further testing as required by OFA.
In order to stop such a high number of cases, support ethical responsible breeders who advocate for the breed and do further testing than just genetic swab results.
Don't support breeders who say "RARE" or "EXOTIC" colors.
ADOPT DON'T SHOP is highly misleading and results in doing more harm than good. Why you say? Because you are supporting and fueling backyard breeding (BYB) which is the puppy mill industry. How? Many people impulse buy without knowing about the breed or health of the desired breed and BYB take advantage of that and mass produce unhealthy sick dogs. Innocent people get the short end of the stick and that often results in high medical bills, aggression reactivity and end up in rescues or shelters. Now owners have realized that it isn't what they wanted. All too often BYB will disappear after making their sale and won't accept a return puppy either. Please note that a responsible breeder will always take their puppies back to avoid them going to shelters as their job is to keep pups out of shelters.
Always ask for proof of health testing; this will always be on public display on Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Ask for the registered name of the dog or AKC number to find results on OFA.
Check out the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals to see the dobermans health requirements and how often health testing is needed.
Please reach us at mont.blanc.european.dobermans@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

NO! We abide by FCI standards and only breed for black/rust and red/rust. Albino, Fawn and Isabella colors have a more likelihood to get illnesses, such as cancer, blindness, deafness, endocrine disorders and have a higher prevalence of being placed in shelters and rescues because of their sky high medical bills that owners can't take care of.
These dilutions are not RARE or EXOTIC!!
If your dogs AKC number has a "Z" in their registration number he/she is a carrier for albinism and that is frowned upon by the DPCA and AKC.
